ADVISE ON PRIVATE PROCEDURE LAW AND LITIGATION

PRIVATE PROCEDURE LAW AND LITIGATION INCLUDES:

Interlocutory relief proceedings either as plaintiff or defendant before the Cantonal Courts of first instance in Paramaribo and Nickerie and of appeal before the Court of Justice in Paramaribo, on claims including:

  • performance of a contract enforced with a penalty payment
  • stay of execution of decissions or enforcement orders for recovery of hypothec or pledges
  • prohibition or injunction enforced with a penalty payment
  • payment under agreement
  • advance payment of damages for breach of contract or tort
  • defamation, libel or slander, e.g., a media report
  • legal transfer of ownership of movable or immovable choses
  • delivery of choses in case of unlawful possession
  • continued payment of wages in the event of void dismissal
